One day I decided to see if my wings could carry me. I had been unemployed previously in my life, and the chances of getting a steady job were becoming increasingly slim. My income has always come from several different sources so becoming an entrepreneur did not appear to be such a major change after all. Throughout my employment history I have had short term jobs — and this phase I initially thought was transient had become status quo. Whether I had enough money to pay the bills had become a monthly challenge. That was my life. My dream will carry me. One day I will make my living running my own business, and  I hope there will also be some spare time for making my art.

I took pictures of six female entrepreneurs from Järvenpää, a small town in the South of Finland. The series shows the lives of women who are running their own small scale businesses.
